Behind the Alexloop is the other peak to the WSW.

• Behind the Alexloop is the other peak to the WSW.
• Zoomed in on the other peak. There is some kind of rod sticking up on top of it (summit marker?).
• Looking a bit to the left of the other peak, part of Frenchman Lake is visible and Dixie Mountain W6/CN-006 is on the skyline between the largest part of the lake and the other peak. See my Dixie Mountain activation album for info on that one.
• Zoomed in. Dixie Mountain is on the skyline in the right half of this shot.
• To the northwest, highway 395 runs through Long Valley. On the other side are the Fort Sage Mountains with State Line Peak (W7N/WC-015).
• To the southeast is Petersen Mountain (W7N/WC-018) on the other side of highway 395.
• I think this shot is looking east, and the light brown colored mountain is Seven Lakes Mountain in Nevada.
• Looking southwest toward the Sierra Valley.
• Zoomed in to the southwest, part of the Sierra Valley is visible with Sierra Buttes (W6/NS-139) on the skyline in the distance.
• Looking south.
• On the way back, I had to winch up the hill that is just west of the ADAMS4X4 point. My ATV is at the top at the winch pull at this point, and the hill behind it is steeper than it appears.
• I needed to winch because of this rock right in the middle of the narrow trail. I couldn't get around it without putting one of my tires on the vertical downhill side of the rock that you see here. It is about 2 1/2 feet tall, and combined with the steep slope below it where I am standing, it caused me to almost flip over backwards when I tried climbing up and over it. I decided that the safe option was just to winch up it to the tree on top. You can't flip over backwards with a winch cable firmly attached to a big tree!

• SOTAWatch spots page 2. Sorry Todd, I didn't see your spot until I got home. It wouldn't have mattered as my 2m HT was back down on the ATV.
• Reverse Beacon Network spots.
• Logbook page 1. I started on 12m and the pipeline from here to W3 and northern W4 was open again (that's three activations in a row beginning with my NASOTA Day activation five days earlier).
• Logbook page 2.
• Logbook page 3. Bob K6TUY couldn't hear me on 30m so I'm glad I gave 40m a try. The Alexloop is very inefficient on 40m (it's too small) but it worked well enough for us to get 'er done. I made 28 QSOs overall, not bad for a weekday with an Alexloop. Thanks to everyone who gave me a call!
