The tree in all of its glory.

• The tree in all of its glory.
• On my ride home I took this shot of Sardine Peak (W6/NS-160) from Henness Pass Road in Sardine Valley. The lookout is the white dot on the top of the ridge. This shot was taken from approximately the same spot as my twilight shots of Sardine Peak in it's 8/1/2012 activation album.
• Also shot on my ride home, this is looking back at Babbitt Peak from Henness Pass Road in Sardine Valley.
• Logbook page 1. I began by working N6IV who was calling CQ from W6/SN-039 (Leviathan Peak). He was my only summit-to-summit QSO on this day. While working K9VD, I was being bitten by red ants and had to tell him to wait while I clawed them off me! Mike KE5AKL thought this was funny. Phil NS7P later called me but I didn't hear him again after I responded and gave him a signal report.
• Logbook page 2. After working Elliott K6ILM with a booming signal from San Francisco on 40m, and CQ-ing several more times with no response, I decided to call it quits, turned off the radio, and began to organize my things. After about 20-30 seconds it dawned on me that I hadn't noticed what my battery pack's voltage was (it is displayed by the HB-1B and I like to make a mental note of it so that I know whether or not to recharge my battery pack when I get home). I turned the radio back on and there was a strong signal on frequency (Rex W6VJJ in Half Moon Bay as it turned out) asking what SOTA meant. I explained what it was, we had a nice ragchew (he is blind by the way), and the QSO was only cut short because the clouds were building rapidly and I felt I needed to get down off the mountain before they started throwing lightning bolts my way. Hopefully Rex will chase us in the future.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by my frequency to work me!
